About Us

CompareBroadband.com is brought to you by the team behind Broadband Savvy.

Since 2018, our team has been providing advice and support on broadband and digital inclusion-related topics on our website and YouTube channel.

In working with consumers, local councils, and community support organisations over the previous decade, we always advised people to avoid using the broadband comparison websites available at the time, because they had a number of flaws in our opinion.

Most broadband sites on the market had poor filtering functionality, and did not give a good picture of the full range of providers on the market in a given area. Many also displayed an excessive amount of sponsored deals, and had a lack of transparency around their commercial relationships with the broadband providers they were promoting.

Eventually, in 2026, we decided to launch CompareBroadband.com to give consumers a better way to find the best possible broadband deal for their specific needs.

Our goal with this website is to allow you more freedom to compare deals in as much detail as possible, so you can find the right tariff for you.

Principles

CompareBroadband.com is operated on the basis of the following seven principles.

1. Provider performance transparency

Across our team, we have tested nearly every major broadband provider on the market in the UK. Using these insights, we keep track of each provider’s WiFi router quality, customer service experience, and value for money, and provide our assessment of each provider’s ongoing performance in the “More details” section of every deal we compare.

You can also learn about the real-world performance of different broadband providers on our YouTube channel.

2. Only quality providers

We only compare deals from broadband providers we would actually use ourselves or would recommend to others, based on factors such as their speed consistency, customer service performance, and WiFi routers.

3. The best possible prices

Using our relationships with broadband providers, we can sometimes get you a lower price on a given deal compared to if you purchased it through their website directly. Where possible, we aim to find and surface these cheaper deals to our users.

4. Full user control

You have the full ability to sort and filter our data to view only the deals that meet your needs, whether this be based on the fastest speeds, lowest monthly costs, WiFi tech, getting a static IP address, or anything else that matters to you, to the extent that we have data available.

5. Accurate, up-to-date data

To the absolute greatest extent possible given that we have to collate it manually, we aim to always keep our deals data completely up-to-date.

Of course, mistakes sometimes happen, so if you spot something incorrect, please contact us.

6. Transparent sponsorships

Some broadband providers sponsor certain deals on our website, and this helps us pay for things such as server hosting costs. When deals are sponsored, this is clearly labelled, and this does not affect the sort order of tariffs shown if you want to define how deals are sorted. If you choose to sort deals based on the lowest monthly cost for example, sponsored deal placements will not override this.

7. Help and advice

We know that broadband can be confusing, so if you’re ever unsure what to buy, contact us with some details about how you use the internet and what you’re looking for, and we’ll get back to you with some advice within two business days.

How the website works

What we do

Every week or so, broadband providers we work with send us the latest information on the deals they’re offering, such as their prices, speeds, and bonuses included.

We then begin uploading this data to our website. Once the process is complete, the latest deal data becomes viewable to our users.

You can see when the data was last updated at the top right of the deals display on any of our comparison pages.

What you can do

By default, when you first load in, our comparison engine displays all available deals, except those with a less than 100 Mbps download speed, and deals that would clutter the comparison page if we included them by default.

For example, 12 and 18 month variants of 24 month deals do not display unless you change the filters, specifying that you’re looking for an 18 month contract for instance.

You can put in your postcode on our website to view just the deals available at your address. Then, you can use the filters to narrow down the deals shown, to do things like:

  • Show deals with less than a 100 Mbps download speed, or with any maximum download or upload speed that you would like.
  • Show deals just from providers you are interested in using.
  • Show deals on broadband networks (infrastructure) you are interested in using. Note that some infrastructure types may not be available at your address, so it is best to put in your postcode to help filter out deals that you can’t buy at the moment.
  • Show deals that only use fibre or 4G/5G broadband.
  • Show deals that offer a home phone service.
  • …and so on.

You can also sort deals based on:

  • Their popularity – this is the default method, and shows which deals are trending on our website at the moment, based on sales figures.
  • The lowest monthly cost – this, and the below options, override any providers’ sponsored placements.
  • The lowest upfront cost.
  • The highest download speed.

Once you find a broadband tariff that you like the look of, you can click “View Deal” to see that plan on the broadband provider’s website.

Before buying, they may ask you to put your postcode in again, just to double-check that you can get that tariff at your address.

If you have any suggestions at all to improve our comparison site, or have encountered any issues when using our service, please let us know.
